Galveston Downtown Management District 

Galveston City Manager Steve LeBlanc and transportation consultant Barry Goodman will lead a discussion of a proposed downtown management district in Galveston next Monday at 8 a.m.  The meeting will be held at the Grand 1894 Opera House.

Numerous management districts have been formed throughout the state in areas where property owners have agreed to manage and fund maintenance and security services, supplementing those already provided by the city.

A management district would first have to be approved by the downtown property owners and the city council, and may also require action by the Texas Legislature.
