Historical
romance author Cheryl Bolen will speak on
"Finding the Time to Write" at
the Feb. 3 meeting of the Bay Area Writers
League.
When
Bolen sold her first book in 1997, she was
working as a full-time journalist but
managed to make time for writing and
meeting with her critique group every
week.
For
that first novel, A Duke Deceived,
Bolen received the title Notable New
Author. Her seventh and eighth English-set
historicals will be published this year,
along with her second novella. Her books
have been translated and sold in 10
foreign countries.
A
graduate of the University of Texas, with
degrees in journalism and English, Bolen
also holds a master's degree in education
from the University of Houston, and she
taught English in the Pearland ISD for six
years.
She's
a former president of BAWL, which meets at
the Webster Barnes & Noble (I-45 &
Bay Area Blvd), beginning at 7:00 p.m. the
first Thursday of each month.
BAWL's
purpose is to educate, assist, encourage
