Make a commitment to “Clean It Like You Mean It” with your neighbors at Armand Bayou on March 12th, 9:00 am – 1:30 pm. Mobilize your family, school, church, neighbors, and organizations to remove tons of trash and debris from the Galveston Bay watershed.  Armand Bayou is one of 10 of the 12th Annual Rives Lakes, Bays ‘N Bayous Trash Bash sites throughout the Houston/Galveston area.  Last year, 475 Armand Bayou volunteers removed 2.6 tons of trash and 5 tires from the Galveston Bay watershed within a two-hour period!

Registration, distribution of gloves and trash bags begins at 8:30 a.m. at Bay Area Park’s boat ramp, 7500 Bay Area Boulevard.  To pre-register for Trash Bash 2005, visit www.trashbash.org, download a registration/liability form, fill it out and bring it with you to the event.

Armand Bayou is primarily a water-based site. Bring rakes, crab nets, or some form of arm extension equipment to gather trash along the bayou banks. Small boats (no engines), canoes and kayaks are welcome.

The clean up is from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by free lunch, door prizes and environmental activities at Armand Bayou Nature Center’s (ABNC) greenhouse.  Volunteer to “ Clean It Like You Mean It” at Armand Bayou!  Call 281 486 9500 or 281 474 2551 for more information.
