a commitment to “Clean It Like You Mean
It” with your neighbors at Armand
Bayou on March 12th, 9:00 am –
1:30 pm. Mobilize your family, school,
church, neighbors, and organizations to
remove tons of trash and debris from the
Galveston Bay watershed. Armand Bayou is one of 10 of the 12th Annual Rives
Lakes, Bays ‘N Bayous Trash Bash sites
throughout the Houston/Galveston area.
Last year, 475 Armand Bayou
volunteers removed 2.6 tons of trash and 5
tires from the Galveston Bay watershed
within a two-hour period!
Registration,
distribution of gloves and trash bags begins
at 8:30 a.m. at Bay Area Park’s boat ramp,
7500 Bay Area Boulevard. To
pre-register for Trash Bash 2005, visit www.trashbash.org,
download a registration/liability form, fill
it out and bring it with you to the event.
Armand
Bayou is primarily a water-based site. Bring
rakes, crab nets, or some form of arm
extension equipment to gather trash along
the bayou banks. Small boats (no engines),
canoes and kayaks are welcome.
The
clean up is from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.,
followed by free lunch, door prizes and
environmental activities at Armand Bayou
Nature Center’s (ABNC) greenhouse. Volunteer
to “ Clean It Like You Mean It” at
Armand Bayou!
