Hughes will celebrate his 100th Birthday
with a celebration in his honor at his home
at Regal Estates Senior Community in League
City on Sunday April 17, 2005.
Mr.
Hughes was a resident of South Texas, where
he had retired to before he moved to Regal
Estates in early 2002.
Mr. Hughes is well known at Regal Estates
and the surrounding community for his
intricate and beautiful pieces of macramé.
He started his hobby in 1972 with a dog
leash and today his apartment is a showcase
for his lampshades,
jar covers, pieces of jewelry, and book
covers.
Mr.
Hughes was born in Columbus, Indiana and
spent his career as the foreman of a sheet
metal shop.
His family as well as the entire community
of Regal Estates will join him in a
celebration from 3 PM to 4 PM on Sunday
afternoon April 17th. Mr. Hughes says
"I have made some great friends at
Regal Estates and I have family that lives
close by."
Terri Lucas, Regal Estate's administrator
said, "We love Mr. Hughes, he is truly
one of our family."
