After
hearing that the Foundation that takes
care of the two ships at Seawolf Park
needed a pick up truck, the Limbock
Family decided to donate a Nissan truck
that has been in their family for years. Ron
Limbock, producer of the Lone Star Rally
in Galveston and an ex-sailor called on
his friends in the industry to help.
"We
wanted the truck to be unique"
Limbock said so he approached Mike
Milburn of Milburn's Paint and Body in
Pasadena for help. Mike researched the
two ships and painted the truck in WWII
Naval camouflage to go along with the
park's theme. "You'll
definitely notice the truck"
Milburn said as he rolled the truck out
for Limbock to see last week.
Another associate of Limbock's, John
Beck of Beck and Masten
GMC/Pontiac/Buick stepped in and the
truck was checkout out mechanically by
his dealership to make sure the vehicle
was "ship shape".
"Beck did this out of the goodness
of his heart", Limbock stated.
"Beck and his dealership are
just caring people who wanted to
help.'"
Limbock
went on to state that "Seawolf Park
preserves an important part of US
History. My parents would be proud
knowing their truck was making a
contribution to this effort."
The truck will be delivered to
Foundation leaders this Wednesday at
Seawolf Park at 10am.
