Seafarers Unions Helps Tsunami Victims

Today we have a ship in port that is leaving tonight.

On board are seafarers from eight countries including Sri Lanka and Maldives.  In speaking with the guys from Sri Lanka I was told their families are safe.

They are grieved over the devastation in their country.  A request came for us to help with children's clothing.

We put a call out to our board and I went to the Salvation Army.  The Salvation Army
was very generous as were others in donating boxes of clothing for infants and children.  We are happy to help.  The photos attached are of our van loaded for
delivery to the ship.

The name of the ship is the Rosario.  It flies a flag of Liberia.  Some of the clothes will also go to Ghana in West Africa where crew members say the children are so very poor as well.

If you need any more information please contact me at 762-0026.  We are not collecting any more children's clothing at this time.
