Honorable
Mayor and Council Members:
In
December you requested that the two sides
continue meeting which we have done.
Unfortunately Frank Jones, Anchor Bay
developer declined to attend any of these
meetings, sending Kathy Thomas and Jeff
Sjostrom to represent him.
Good
progress was made on a backup road plan
until today. Jerry Mohn and Jeff Sjostrom
deserve much credit for moving things along
in a progressive way.
This
plan was one to be used in the event that
the City or other authority compels the use
of Camino Real as the primary entrance to
Spanish Grant.
Today
we met with the agenda of receiving some
answers from Anchor Bay and trying to
reach final agreement on the secondary road
plan. These points were hopefully to develop
a consensus that the Spanish Grant Board
might vote upon at their meeting tonight.
Upon
arrival at the meeting Ms. Thomas informed
us that she was offended that a public
statement on behalf of Spanish Grant did not
recognize the progress of the negotiating
committee.
I
explained that this was an unintended
omission and apologized.
Nevertheless
Ms. Thomas went on to say that because she
was offended and despite my apology that she
would not convey the answers she had to the
discussion points which were to be discussed
at the meeting.
Since
there was no further valid purpose to the
meeting I expressed my regret that Ms.
Thomas had wasted the time of all attending
and excused myself and departed.
All
present conducted themselves in a quiet and dignified
manner.
Respectfully
yours,
Bill
Moll
