Did
you know that in 2002, the Texas Ethics Commission fined Mr.
Shults $2000 for failing to itemize contributions and/or
expenditures in pre-election and runoff reports? He also
failed to list the addresses for several expenditures and the
purpose of a few of those expenditures for both the pre
election and runoff - why? One can't help but wonder if the
money was used for non campaign purposes (i.e. personal). He
even failed to respond to the notices sent by the Commission!
If he is incapable of filing election paperwork properly, how
does he expect to run a city?
He has not been an active member of League City government,
either elected or volunteer, for several years. If Mr. Shults
really wants to be mayor, where has he been? Why hasn't he
been active in some civil capacity - paid or unpaid?
As a resident of League City, I hope someone else,
particularly someone with relevant experience (i.e. recent and
local), is available, and that voters will be educated enough
to choose someone other than Mr. Shults.
Sincerely,
Michelle B LaCombe
Concerned League City resident and voter
