Out
of the numerous (over 50 emails) that I have received not one,
let me repeat that, NOT ONE has agreed with the action taken
regarding Palomino road.
I am not
surprised, given Mr. Farris’ location that he is
upset. But to say the school district is attempting to
“blackmail” I believe was his word, is a little dramatic
to say the least. What a shame Mr. Farris did not
volunteer for the CCISD committee that researched where the
new schools should go. I guess if you want your voice to be
heard you should get involved.
But let’s
cut to the chase. When it’s all said and done Big League
Dreams will cost 25 million, the new swimming pool for the
swimmers will cost 5 million. Yet our city does not wish to
pay 3.5 million to widen a road for a new high school? A
new high School that will benefit most citizens of
League City
?
You know I
think more people come and settle in
League City
not because of the friendly cooperative actions of our city
but because the CCISD is a great district to educate our
children. Before
League City
was incorporated the CCISD was here insuring the high standard
of education it has become known for.
One last
observation that I believe has been over looked. What about
the economic boon for our town? With all those new teachers
eating lunch and shopping in
League City
we stand to make a fortune. Where’s the economic
development magical formula when you need it? I’m surprised
the city did not give the school district a special deal like
it does for others who are bringing jobs to our town! I’ll
bet if we put this in the BLD formula.. you know the one that
said Big League Dreams will make us a fortune.. , we would get
a couple million a year just off the teachers. At that rate
the road will pay for itself in two or three years!!!!
