(GALVESTON) – Albert Choate, Galveston County Navigation District 1 Commissioner and Republican candidate for Galveston County Commissioner Precinct 2, today announced a campaign steering committee that features some of the stalwarts of Galveston County politics.

“I am thrilled to have assembled a first-rate committee steeped in Galveston County GOP politics,” Choate said. “This gifted group unquestionably strengthens my campaign as it gathers momentum for success in the Republican primary in March.”

Over 20 residents from all over Galveston County have joined Albert’s steering committee to help him secure the Republican nomination, including prominent business leaders like well known Aggie, George Black, CFC, President and CEO of the RSA Family of companies, and David F. Laine, President of Galveston-based environmental services firm Delesco, Inc.

GOP political consultant, Onzelo Markum, III, of The Markum Group heads the strategic and tactical arm of the campaign as its general consultant. Markum, an Aggie and former Bush appointee, brings a wealth of talent and expertise to the Choate team; he successfully managed the 2005 campaign for League City Mayor Jerry Shults.

Long time GOP activist and Markum Group associate, Donna Maloney, also an Aggie, has joined the team as well and will coordinate the Choate campaign’s field activities and volunteer network.

Said Markum, “We invite the voters in Precinct 2 to go to: www.albertchoate.com to learn more about Albert and his vision for Galveston County. Albert Choate is a trusted, experienced leader, and is the only Republican candidate who has pledged to be a full-time county commissioner. We look forward to running a positive, issues-based campaign and presenting Mr. Choate and his distinguished 30-year record of public service to the Republican primary voters in Precinct 2.”
