League City City Council has scheduled an executive session for 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16 to consult with the city attorney regarding pending litigation against the city by the Houston Chronicle and the Galveston County Daily News. At this week's regular meeting, the city council voted 5-1, with Jim Nelson opposed, to deny a request from the two newspapers for a variance from the city code restricting the solicitation and sale of materials to occupants of motor vehicles stopped on public roadways.
