Several newly elected and reelected Galveston County officials were administered oaths of office in a ceremony at the Galveston County Courthouse on New Year's Day.  Listen  Download to MP3 Player 

The list includes Lonnie Cox, judge, 56th District Court; Cheryl Johnson, Galveston County tax assessor/collector; Latonia Wilson, district clerk; Darrell Apffel, justice of the peace, Precinct 5; Michael Montez, constable, Precinct 5 and Pam Matranga, constable, Precinct 7.

Re-elected officials who were sworn in at the event are Judge David Garner, 10th District Court; Judge Wayne Mallia, 405th District Court; Justice of the Peace Kathleen McCumber, Precinct 8-1; Constable Don Cherry, Precinct 1; Constable Terry Petteway, Precinct 2; Constable Earl Tottenham, Precinct 3 and Constable Skip Gay, Precinct 4

Galveston County Judge Jim Yarbrough was master of ceremonies.  Harris County Constable Bill Bailey delivered the opening prayer.
