RANDY WEBER
ANNOUNCES HIS ENDORSEMENT BY CONGRESSMAN RON
PAUL
“The
Taxpayer’s Best Friend” endorses a proven
conservative leader who is equally committed
to protecting the taxpayers of Texas
Today,
Randy Weber announced his endorsement by
Congressman Ron Paul (R-Lake Jackson), who
represents the 14th Congressional District
of Texas.
Weber said,
“I am pleased to announce that I have been
endorsed in my campaign by Congressman Ron
Paul. This is a tremendous honor, and I
thank Dr. Paul for his strong vote of
approval for my campaign. I’ve long admired
Congressman Paul’s commitment to principle
over politics, and his dedication to fiscal
responsibility and accountability in
government. His endorsement is exceedingly
rare in state races, and I am proud that he
has chosen to acknowledge our shared
commitment to conservative principles and
liberty.”
“Congressman Paul and I have both dedicated
our years in elected office to shrinking the
size and scope of government by reducing
wasteful government spending and by easing
the financial burden on taxpayers,” said
Weber. “He is known as the “Taxpayer’s Best
Friend” in Congress. I will work just as
hard to become the “Taxpayer’s Best Friend”
in Austin, by supporting legislation to
reduce property taxes, enact appraisal caps,
and eliminate wasteful government spending.”
Weber
continued, “I look forward to working with
Congressman Paul to find ways to secure our
Texas borders, halt the flood of illegal
immigration and to neutralize the threat of
terrorists coming across our borders. By
coordinating state and federal efforts, we
can make Texas a safer place for all our
families.”
Federal
Election Commission reports show that one of
Weber’s special election opponents, Mike
O’Day, contributed thousands of dollars to
Congressman Paul’s Democrat opponent in
2006. However, Congressman Paul easily
defeated his opponent and won re-election
with over 60% of the total vote.
Congressman
Paul represents the 14th Congressional
District, which has a large geographical
overlap with Texas House District 29,
including all of Matagorda County, and over
a third of District 29 voting precincts in
Brazoria County.
