(Galveston)
– Albert Choate added County
Treasurer Kevin C. Walsh, CPA and Tax
Assessor Cheryl E. Johnson to the growing
list of conservative Galveston county
political leaders endorsing him for County
Commissioner.
County Treasurer Kevin C.
Walsh, a Certified Public Accountant who is
responsible for investing the County’s money
among other duties, said,
“Albert is a fiscal
conservative with a Master’s degree and a
business background. Galveston County has
over 100 million dollars worth of taxpayer
money invested at any one time. The
Commissioners Court sets the fiscal policy
for the county and has a budget of more than
130 million dollars annually. We need
someone with Albert’s knowledge and
experience making these critical financial
decisions.”

County Tax Assessor
Cheryl E. Johnson, a proven
conservative leader, is well known
in Austin as a taxpayer advocate,
she has vigorously championed
meaningful property tax relief and
has led the charge in Galveston
County for the 3% appraisal cap.
“As a Navigation
District One Commissioner, Albert
cut taxes again this year.
|
A member of C.L.O.U.T
(Citizens Lowering Our Unfair Taxes), he
supports the 3% appraisal cap. Albert
is the only candidate for County
Commissioner who has proven his ability to
cut taxes and keep service quality high. We
need another conservative voice on
Commissioners Court to help curb wasteful
county spending and Albert is that voice.”
Choate welcomed the strong
endorsements and added, “I am honored and
humbled by their support and I promise the
voters that, if elected, I will work hard,
every day, to live up to my promise to be a
conservative leader they can trust.”
