Dear Mr.
Criss:
This
letter demands retraction of libels of
me published by you in the Forum section
of Guidrynews.com on November 1st, 2006.
The libelous statements were contained
in the 4th paragraph of your
guest column entitled Charade Takes
the Cake, stating,
“This
charge reminds me of a trick Onzelo
used earlier this year during the
primary election. He drew up an
attack postcard against his client
Albert Choate and send it to a
hand full of people.”
The three foregoing
underlined assertions are false and
defamatory; their publication by you is
libel per se.
As a
political consultant who vigorously
defends and advocates for my clients and
their positions, I believe that debate
on public issues should be uninhibited,
robust, and wide-open. That debate may
very well be vehement, caustic, and can
sometimes result in unpleasantly sharp
attacks by either side; however your
statements crossed the line from free
expression to libel.
As a
result, I demand that you immediately
but no later than 12 noon on Friday,
November 3rd, 2006 do the
following:
-
instruct Jim Guidry of
Guidrynews.com to remove the
foregoing libels from the
guidrynews.com website, and
-
publish a correction to your
guest column on Guidrynews.com
retracting the foregoing libels
in substantially as conspicuous
a manner as they were made.
Very Truly
Yours,
Onzelo
