Doris Marie Boone, age 55, of Texas City, died Monday, October 30, 2006 at her residence. Funeral services are set for 11:00 am Saturday, November 4, 2006 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston. Graveside services will be 9:30  am Monday, at Houston National Cemetery. Visitors may call at the funeral home beginning at 5:00 pm on Friday with a wake to be held from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Doris was born October 27, 1951 in Galveston to Roy Lee Bolden, Sr. and Mary Lee Washington Bolden. She attended Galveston Public Schools, was an LVN, was co-owner of Boone’s Tree Service and a member of the Word of Faith Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Felder Bolden, Roy Lee Bolden, Jr. and Willie Bolden; survivors include her husband Able P. Boone of Texas City; son, Tony Bolden and wife Carolyn of Galveston; sisters, Lela Bolden, Mary Bolden, Peggy Bolden, and Patricia Bolden; brother, Leroy Bolden; grandchildren, Deneika Herron and husband Ken, Fallon Dickerson, Tony Bolden, Jr., and Toi Bolden; great grandchild, Reginald Sanders; best friends, Ila Parish , Petreat Hicks, and Margie Johnson.
