Annie Mae Brown, 90, died Thursday, November 9, 2006, at Mainland Center Hospital in Texas City. She was born February 17, 1916, in Longview, Texas. 

Miss Brown is survived by her daughter, Minnie Shelton of Hitchcock; brother, Clarence Morris of Longview, Texas; 3 sisters, Frances M. Wells, of Fort Worth; Katherine Hutchins and Ruby Smith both of California; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Miss Brown was an active member of Wilbur Chapel United Methodist Church for over 45 years.  She served as church secretary, a delegate to the United Methodist Conference, a Communion Steward, a member of the church choir and also a member of Wilbur Chapel's United Methodist Women. 

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2006, at Wilbur Chapel United Methodist Church, 7002 Martin Luther King Avenue in Hitchcock, followed by a wake, also at the church, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 17, 2006, at Wilbur Chapel.  Reverend Debra Brown will officiate. Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Cemetery in Hitchcock, under the direction of Wynn Funeral Home, 602-32nd Street, Galveston, Texas, 409/621-1677.
