Grace R. Carter

Mrs. Grace R. Carter passed from this life Tuesday, December 5, 2006, in Texas City.

Born June 26, 1928 in Warnerton, LA, Mrs. Carter had been a resident of Texas City since April, previously of Trinity/Livingston for 5 years and Santa Fe for 30 years.  She had been a secretary for Amoco Chemical at Chocolate Bayou where she retired after 17 years of service, was a member of Dorcas Wills Memorial Baptist Church in Trinity and VFW Post 5400 Ladies Auxiliary in Hitchcock.  Mrs. Carter enjoyed quilting and was an avid Astro’s fan.  She even attended the Astro’s summer camp.

She was preceded in death by her stepson, Harold Edward Carter; father, Dallas Rushing; brother, Denman Rushing.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 50 years, Harold Eugene Carter; son, Richard Ray Hardeman of NC, daughter, Sheryl Hardeman Cash and husband, Joel of Livingston; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Carter of Austin; grandchildren, Clark Carter Cash, Kaylan Grace Cash, Shannon Carter, Jason Carter.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2006, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Reverend Alex Yovan officiating.

Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.
