On February
12, 1972, a handsome baby boy was born
to the union of Alfred and Carolyn
Douglas Sr. whom they named Alfred.
Alfred Lee Douglas Jr., 34, left his
earthly home and entered his eternal
resting place on Wednesday, November 1,
2006.
Alfred
attended public schools in
Galveston. He
was baptized at
West Point
Baptist Church
at an early age. He worked for various
companies, such as Shutters Corner,
Miller's Landing and Celeste Stein &
Designs. He was a loving son, husband,
father, brother, uncle, cousin and
friend.
Alfred was
preceded in death by his grandparents
Nolbert and Hattie Feast; brother,
Clifton
"Squally" Douglas; uncle, Leonard Feast
and great aunt, Mable Foster. He leaves
to cherish his precious memories a
devoted wife of 14 years, Joyce Franklin
Douglas; two sons, LaKeith Tyler and
Alfred L. Douglas III; three daughters,
Alexis Douglas, Alisha Douglas and
Raneisha Franklin; mother, Carolyn
Douglas (Jake); father, Alfred L.
Douglas Sr., grandmother, Novella
Douglas of La Marque; sister, Wilhemina
Brooks-Hill (Mike); aunts, Evelyn
Bullard and Mary White (Buddo)of
Galveston, Thelma Bivens of Dickinson,
Bobbie Jones, Stella Fredricks (Willie
James) of Texas City, Irma Jean Johnson
(Clayton) of League City and Yvette Joba
of Galveston; uncle, Richmond Douglas
(Marcy) of LaMarque; three nephews,
Larry Brooks, Jr., Leonard Brooks and
Michael Hill Jr.; a host of devoted
great aunts, uncles, cousins, friends
and brothers and sisters in law.
Visitation will be held on Monday,
November 6, 2006, from 3:00 p.m. to
7:00 p.m. at Wynn Funeral Home, 602-32nd
Street in Galveston, Texas, followed by
a wake, also at the funeral home, from
7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral
will be held on Tuesday, November 7,
2006 at 11:00 a.m. at
West Point
Baptist
Church, 3003 Avenue M in
Galveston, the
Reverend Kerry W. Tillmon officiating.
Burial will follow at
Lakeview
Cemetery.
