Mario Marcelino Garcia, Sr., 57, of Galveston, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2006, at UTMB Hospital.

Funeral service will be 10:00 am, Monday, November 20^th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home with Father Niall Nolan officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock.

The family will receive visitors after 5:00 pm, Sunday, November 19^th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.  A vigil service will be held at 6:30 pm.

Mario was born February 2, 1949 in Cerralvo, Mexico.  He graduated from Ball High School and attended Galveston Jr. College.  Mario worked as a meatcutter for 36 years, working first for Gerland’s and then for Arlan’s.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Church.

Mario is preceded in death by his parents, Marcelino and Alicia Garcia.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Ernestine M. Garcia, of Galveston; son, Mario M. Garcia, Jr., of Houston; daughter, Rita A. Garcia-Adams and her husband, Mark, of Oakland, CA; son, Blas S. Garcia, of Austin; and grandson, Connor E. Garcia.

Pallbearers will be Isidro Martinez, Alexander Martinez, Mario M. Garcia, Jr., Blas S. Garcia, Roberto Martinez, and Frank Diaz.
