Eileen Robertson Harris, 92, a beloved
mother and grandmother, went to sleep in
the arms of her Lord on Monday, October
16, 2006.
Eileen was born September 4, 1914, to
Carey and Hattie Sims Robertson. She
attended public school in Plaquemine,
LA., and later moving to Galveston where
she met and married the late Henry
Harris, Sr., a union that lasted 54
years. She was a retired LVN from St.
Mary's Hospital, a faithful member of
the Live Oak Baptist Church, serving on
the Usher board, in the Ladies Auxiliary
Mission, choir, as Sunday School
secretary and on various committees.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, husband; two sons, Henry, Jr.
and Leon K. Harris; special niece,
Bertha Crockett and ten sibling. Her
life will be celebrated in blessed
remembrance by her two daughter, Ethel
Mae Mitchell of Hitchcock, TX and Eileen
Randle of Galveston, TX, who also served
as her devoted care taker; sister,
Virginia Hurks of Annapolis, MD;
brother, Wilson Robertson of Melville,
LA; numerous grandchildren, great
grandchildren and two great great
grandchildren; a host of nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin at 10AM on
Saturday, October 21, 2006, followed by
a service celebrating her life at 11:00
AM at the Live Oak Baptist Church with
Pastor Vernon L. Baines officiating. She
will be laid to rest along side her
beloved Henry in Lakeview Cemetery in
Galveston.
