Clementeen Jackson, 58, departed this
life on Friday, October 20, 2006, at
Mainland Medical Center.
Clementeen was born August 22, 1948, in
Galveston. She attended public school in
Galveston and was a 1966 graduate of
Central High School. She was a
Paraprofessional for the school district
and was member of the Mary Ann Court
#434serving as Most Ancient Matron
Heroines of Jericho, Eastern Star,
Ladies Auxiliary of Gus Allen American
Legion Post # 614 and secretary of the
Class of 1966. She also was a member of
the St. John Baptist church where she
served as a Youth Matron and vice
president of the Choir.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, husband Nathan Jackson and a
brother. She leaves with precious
memories her father, Melvin R. Campbell;
stepdaughter, Beverly Otems;
Goddaughter, Brenda Lemons; brothers,
Jerry "Hot Butter" Nelson (Michelle) and
Robert Campbell (Ruby); sisters, Joyce
Grey (A. J.), Annie Burton (Mathis) and
Cathy Nelson (Mike); aunt, Delores
"Baby" Alcorn; special nieces, Rosalyn
Young-Perry and Cheryl "Niki" Nelson;
special cousins, Icille Jones and
Jeanette Nelson Wyles; special friends,
Juanita Mack, Martha Bogan, Earline
Miller, Hazel Burrell, Irma Jean Moore,
Gwendolyn Fontenette and Rene King; a
host of other nieces, nephews, relatives
and friends.
Viewing will be held on Friday, October
27th from 3-5PM at E. R. Johnson Family
Mortuary, followed by a wake service
from 7-9PM at the St. John Baptist
Church. The family is requesting that
those who care to make expression to
join them during the wake service.
A service celebrating her life will be
held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October
28, 2006, also at the St. John church
with Pastor Louis Simpson, Jr., She will
be laid to rest in Lakeview Cemetery.
