Ignatius Charles “Sonny” Kopczynski, 72, passed away November 5, 2006 at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, Texas. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at Port Bolivar Cemetery, Port Bolivar, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday November 7, 2006 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home, 1201 Tremont, Galveston, Texas.

“Sonny” was born July 3, 1934 to Carl and Maggie Seigle Kopczynski in Anderson, Texas. He was a painter in the construction business. He loved to dance and visit the casinos in Louisiana.

Preceded in death by his son, Ricky Kopczynski, parents, 2 sisters Gertrude Moore and Betty Kopczynski, “Sonny” is survived by his daughters, Janice Kopczynski of Summerville, Texas, Shirley Edwards and Mary Thane both of College Station, Texas; sisters, Martha Baranowski and husband, Ed and Margaret Bukowski and husband, Charles all of Houston, Texas; brothers, Cashmere Kopczynski and wife Margaret of Houston and John Kopczynski of Point Blank, Texas; adoptive son, David Stephens; special devoted friend, Sandra Milliff of Port Bolivar; other relatives and friends.
