Pamela E. Lemons-Mathews

Pamela E. Lemons-Mathews, 53, departed this life on Wednesday, October 25, 2006, at UTMB Hospital.

Pamela was born July 19, 1953, in Galveston to Sarah Mozelle Lemons and Claude Merchant, Sr.. She attended public school in Galveston and was a 1971 graduate of Ball High School. She was a faithful member of St. Augustine Episcopal Church, where she served as a youth minister, Lay Chaplain and member of the Vestry. She was employed with UTMB for 20 years and the last15 years as an Aide/Driver with GISD Transportation Dept.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. Pamela leaves to cherish memories with her husband Edward Mathews; sons, Keith Callis, Jarrod Mathews and Edward Davis (Angie); daughters, Audrey Callis-Henry (Todd), Shalea Callis and Debra Norwood; grandchildren, Chantel, DeVante', Brandon, Brendan, Cameron, Ragenea, Ragene, Eugene, Anthony, Dontae', Chantae' Taya; her sibling, Babette Lemons, Ernest Lemons, Jr. (Freddy) and Claude Merchant, Jr.; nephews, Chris and Tristan Lemons; nieces, Cheridian Lemons; uncles, Ernest Lemons, Sr., Charles Lemons (Roy Len), Teddy Richardson (Martha) and Joe Richardson (Olivia); aunt, Janie Richardson (Fred); devoted friends, Doris McMurrin, Patsy Johnson, Dorothy Cade; numerous other relatives and friends.

Viewing will begin at 2PM on Friday, November 3rd followed by a wake form 7-8PM at E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary. A service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2006, at 11:00 AM at the St. Augustine Episcopal Church with Rev Helen Appleburn and Otha Ross, officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
