On Sunday, October 15,
2006, 48 year old Jon P.
Olsen, a pilot,
businessman,
entrepreneur, husband
and brother departed
this journey in life to
start a new journey with
the Lord. He was born on
June 12, 1958, in New
York Mills, Minnesota as
the third child of
Minister Walter M. D.
Olsen and wife, Margaret
(deceased).
Jon
is survived by his wife
of 16 years, Cathy Ann
Olsen. He leaves behind
a brother, Steve Olsen
and spouse Carol of
Maui, Hawaii; sister,
Jan Withrow of Colorado;
and sister, Jessica
Bryant of Michigan,
along with many other
family members and
friends.
Upon
graduation from
Leilehula High School in
Wahiawa, Oahu, Hawaii,
Jon briefly attended
Colorado Mountain
College in Steamboat,
Colorado. He finished
his degree in Aviation
at Michigan State
University’s Aviation
Division. Jon’s aviation
career was extensive. As
a pilot he enjoyed being
a corporate charter
pilot based in such
prestigious places from
Aspen and Vail, Colorado
to Orange County,
California.
In
2000, Jon opened the
door of P. Factor
Aviation, Inc. in
Galveston, Texas,
starting as a flight
school and aerial tour
business. Over the next
6 years he developed the
company into a very
successful air charter
and corporate aircraft
management company. His
dream of building his
own corporate
headquarters and
aircraft hangar facility
had just come to
fruition earlier this
year.
Jon
had a real love for
flying, but equally
loved surfing. He was an
adventurer that loved
life, a positive person
with an exceptional “go
after it” attitude. His
laughter and smile were
contagious even in the
face of adversity.
A
memorial service will be
held Saturday, October
21, 2006, at 10:30 a.m.,
at Christ Church Baptist
Fellowship, 12501
Champion Forest Drive,
Houston, Texas 77066. A
reception in the
fellowship hall will
follow the service.
In
lieu of flowers,
donations can be made to
AOPA or the EAA as he
was a member and felt
strongly about both
their causes. |
