VICTORIA, TX --? As the election draws
closer, voters in the 14th Congressional
District are asking, ?Where in the world
is Ron Paul???
Civic organizations throughout District
14 have created numerous opportunities
for liberartian Congressman Ron Paul and
Democratic candidate Shane Sklar to
appear together in public and speak on
the issues that matter most to Texas'
Gulf Coast families.? Ron Paul has
refused all of these generous
invitations, turning down at least 6
such opportunities.?
Shane Sklar has addressed voters'
concerns about port security at the
Texas City Chamber of Commerce Issues
Forum and answered questions about his
plan for effective representation at the
Victoria College/ League of Women Voters
Forum.? When an AARP forum was booked at
the same time as the Victoria event, he
even rushed to catch the end of his
wife's remarks there and greet AARP
members,? said Sklar spokeswoman Austin
Bonner. ?Ron Paul refused to appear at
these and other opportunities to speak
on the issues, and has now refused to
participate in the KULP radio
roundtable.??
Voters deserve to hear an explanation
directly from Ron Paul about his
peculiar views on abolishing public
education, legalizing dangerous drugs
like heroin and cocaine, and opposing
any Medicare prescription drug program,?
Bonner said. ?This agenda is totally out
of step with District 14. Ron Paul is
hiding behind cookbooks and TV spots
hoping the voters won't notice he's
afraid to come out and debate Shane
Sklar.??
