Special Interest Groups Run Our State and Federal Governments
by James Boyd
September 23, 2006

I have heard citizens and some politicians lament the fact that Special Interest groups
run our State and Federal governments. I believe our elected officials should be
accountable and attentive to only one Special Interest group, the voters.

Our elected officials are chosen to serve the people not the Insurance lobbyists, not the Energy lobbyists, not the Oil Industry lobbyists, and certainly not Political Action
Committees who represent the few and not the many.

Some elected officials are so consumed with staying in power that they have forgotten
why they were elected; to serve the people. They are crippled by the fear that they may lose favor with some special interest group and lose their support in the next election.

And they have! The Voters!

Vote this November for candidates who have shown that they will serve the people!

Vote this November for candidates who don't shirk their responsibility to the people by
submitting to political pressure in decision making!

Vote this November for Candidates who answer to only one Special Interest group - The Voters!

Shane Sklar and Nick Lampson are these candidates!!
