Since When Is It Legal or Even Ethical?

by Linda Coltharp
September 26, 2006

Since when is it legal or even ethical to use county resources in a political advertisement??

Bryan Lamb, the Democrat candidate for County Commissioner of Precinct 2,  has a photo on his web add with him standing beside a vehicle that says "SHERIFF" on it. As in Galveston County Sheriff. As in vehicle bought with taxpayer's (including Republican taxpayer's) money. Did the Democrat Sheriff Gean Leonard approve the use of county vehicles for this add?? Wait a minute, that would be the same County Sheriff who used the same cars in a TV add for Nick Lampson, Democrat candidate for US Congress.

Democrat Judge Susan Criss has a photo with her on the bench. A bench paid for by taxpayers. Then I see in the police news that Democrat DA Kurt Sistrunk has a picture of him at his desk. In his county office.

Are the Democrats so out of touch that they are completely unaware that you should not use taxpayer money for political benefit? OR do they just not care because they have had control for so long that they think that the rules that apply to others, don't apply to them?

The former is bad, the latter is worse.

On November 7th, vote a straight Republican ticket and send the good ole boys right on home.
