Linda K. Brooks, 52, received her reward of eternal rest on Sunday, December 31, 2006, at UTMB Hospital.

Linda was born October 20, 1954, in Galveston, Texas to Rush, Sr. and Mildred Anderson Brooks. She attended public school in Galveston and was a 1974 graduate of Ball High School and a 1976 graduate of Galveston College. Linda was employed by the State of Texas Dept. of Human Resource and Community in School until her failed. She was a member of the Live Oak Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father.
Left to cherish memories are her devoted sons, Cedric Julius Brooks, Sr. (Latisha) and Corey Roshawn Brooks of Galveston; special adopted son, Broderick Richardson of Conroe; grandchildren, Darius Lazard, Cedric, Jr. and Khailynn Brooks; loving mother and step father, Mildred Laws and Gene Laws of Galveston; brothers, Rush Brooks, Jr. of Port Arthur, TX, Calvin Brooks, Sr. (Angela) of Texas City, TX, Robert Lee Brooks of Antioch, CA; sisters, Thelma Brooks Penson of Galveston and Francine Buster (Paul) of Angleton, TX; uncles, Robert Lee Brooks, Johnny Anderson and Willie Lee Anderson; aunts, Annabel Jones, Claudine Shorter (Rev Colby, Jr.); host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Viewing will begin at 4PM on Sunday, January 7th, followed by a wake from 7-8PM at E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, January 8, 2007, at the Live Oak Baptist Church with Pastor Vernon L. Baines, officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
