On January 6, 2007, the Heavens' gates
opened up to receive Idell Marie Haynes.
Idell was born January 13, 1939, in
Homer, LA. She moved to Galveston, Texas
with her family and attended Central
High School, where she graduated with
the class of 1958. She began her career
at the St. Mary's Hospital and retired
after 42 years of service as a dietary
supervisor.
She leaves to cherish memories, a
devoted husband of 47 years, McKinley
Haynes, Jr. of Galveston; two wonderful
sons, Kenneth Haynes (Errhonda) of
Fresno, TX; Danny Haynes (Felicia) of
Texas City, TX; loving daughter,
Sherrill Avery of Baytown, TX; thirteen
grandchildren, seven great
grandchildren; sister, Margeree Wilson;
nephews, Rev. Johnny "Ricky" Wilson of
Huntsville, AL, Warren "Tex" Wilson of
Colorado Spring, CO and Joseph Wilson of
Texas City, TX; a host of other
relatives and friends.
Viewing will begin at 4PM on Friday,
January 12th, followed by a wake service
from 7-8PM at E. R. Johnson Family
Mortuary.
A service celebrating her life will be
held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January
13, 2007, at the St. John Baptist Church
with Pastor Louis Simpson, Jr.,
officiating. She will be laid to rest in
Lakeview Cemetery.
