Juneteenth to the Fourth of July

Guidry News Service celebrated Freedom Days, with special coverage of events related to Juneteenth, the anniversary of the delivery of the Emancipation Proclamation to the slaves of Galveston; to July 4, the celebration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Fourth of July events in Galveston included a Downtown parade and awards ceremony in the Railroad Museum; and a Summer Band Concert in Sealy Pavilion.
