In Remembrance
James Howard Linkey
Hayes Funeral Home

Mr. James Howard Linkey passed
away Thursday, January 25, 2007,
at Clear Lake Hospital in
Webster after a yearlong battle
with cancer. Born January 24,
1935 in Arcadia, TX where he
spent most of his adult life,
Mr. Linkey was of the Protestant
faith, had attended Santa Fe
High School, was a member of the
Painters Local #585 where he
retired after 35 years of
service, served in the US Army
and received his GED while in
the service. Howard was sort of
a rebel in his younger years but
in a fun kind of way and to most
everyone who knew him knew he
was an easygoing guy who enjoyed
life, fishing and hunting,
building things, Bar-B-Quing
with friends and was a good
story teller, brother and
friend.
He
was preceded in death by his
parents, Joe and Lucille (Baty)
Linkey; sister, Bobbie June
Linkey and is survived by sons,
Johnny Linkey, Gary Linkey and
wife, Tammy, and Ricky Linkey; 7
grandchildren; 3
great-grandchildren; brother,
Richard Linkey and wife,
Barbara; ex-wife of 37 years,
Janet Corey Linkey; ex-brother
and sister-in-law, Donald and
Doris Corey; lifelong best
friend, Dale Hicks.
Graveside services will be
conducted 10:00 a.m. Tuesday,
January 30, 2007, at Confederate
Cemetery in Alvin with Pastor
John Newton officiating. A
private cremation was conducted
under the direction of Hayes
Funeral Home.
