Brenda Lucille Gardner

Brenda Lucille Gardner, 62, received her reward of eternal rest on Sunday, January 28, 2007, at her residence.

Brenda was born September 6, 1944, in Galveston, Texas to John Charles, Sr. and Lucille Twine Allen. She was a 1962 graduate of Central High School. She was a retired Pedi X-ray technician from UTMB Radiology Department after 27 years of service. She accepted Christ at an early age and was faithful member and willing worker of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where she served actively with the Mission, Golden Stewards, Hospitality and Kitchen Committees. She also was participated with the Central Gathering.

She was preceded in death by her parents and leaves to cherish memories with her son, Louis ‘Squeaky" Gardner, III of Atlanta; daughter, Kim F. Lemelle (Carl Wayne) of Galveston; grandchildren, Angelique James, DeJavohn LeMelle, LaNeisha and LaShae Gardner; father of her children, Louis Gardner, Jr.; longtime companion, Tommy Lynex; brothers, J. C. "Butch" Allen, Jr. of La Marque, TX and Carlos Minor of Houston, TX; sister, Natalie Minor of Houston, TX; devoted uncle and aunt, Rev. Leonard and Margaret J. Bell; devoted friends, Linda White Maham, Mary Snell and Dorothy Cartwright; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, her class of 1962 and many friends.

Viewing for Brenda will be held from 3-5PM on Friday, February 2nd at E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary, followed by a wake form 7-8:30PM at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church (3602 Sealy) . A service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 3, 2007, also at the Mt. Olive church with Pastor Norris D. Burkley, Sr., officiating. She will be laid to rest in Lakeview Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearer are Marvin Scurry, Carl LeMelle, Donald Singleton, Randy Bell, Anthony Bell and Ernest Mack. Honorary Pallbearers are Tommy Lynex and Rev. Leonard Bell.
