Wilma James Young
E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary

Wilma James YoungWilma James Young, 66, departed this life on Sunday, January 28, 2007, at UTMB Hospital.

Wilma was born April 1, 1940, in Washington, LA to Emma and Arthur James, Sr. She attended school in Louisiana and was a graduate of Washington Dunbar High School. She has been a resident of Galveston since 1965 and was a retired cook from GISD and St. Mary's Parish Rector.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Arthur ‘Uncle Henry" James, Jr.; sister Loney Hilton.
She leaves to cherish memories with her devoted children, Stanley Young and Cherry Young both of Galveston; sisters, Beatrice Golbert, Mamie Hurd and Linnie Victorian; devoted friend, T. L. Young; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Viewing for Mrs. Young will begin at 4PM on Friday, February 2nd followed by a wake form 7-8PM. A service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 3, 2007, at E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary, with Rev. Michael Dwyer, officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
