Jennie Ruth Kinlaw

Jennie Ruth Kinlaw 67, went home to be with her father on Sunday, January 28, 2007, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Jennie was born September 30, 1939, in Gautier Mississippi.  She was the daughter of the late John and Ida Stewart.

Jennie grew up in Louisiana and later move to Galveston, TX with her family.  While in Galveston, she met and married her loving husband of 29 years, Ernest Kinlaw November 12, 1977.  Jennie was a member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church.  Jennie devoted her early years to her two clubs: As the World Turns and The Young and The Restless for many years.  She also worked for the Henderson Group Inc. for 25 years in Housekeeping.  Her grandchildren were the love of her life.  She also had a passion for cooking for her family and her friends. 

Jennie is Preceded in death by her mother and father John and Ida Stewart, her son Elijah Williams, Jr.; her sisters Mary Lu Ease, Cornelia Royal, Gladys Montgomery, Eunice Stewart, and her brothers Curtis Stewart and Ralpheal Stewart and Christian Wallace.

Jennie is Survived by her husband, Ernest Kinlaw of 29 Years, her sisters: Velma, Eula, Ophelia; her daughters, Denise Williams (Tyrone) - Renada; Marilyn Francis (Carl Jr.) - Carl III, Kelan; Nickcole Byrd (Peter, Sr.) - Dezmond, Antriel, Peter, Jr., Nick Sandra Hall (Anthony Sr.) - Jasmine, Anthony, Jr.; Ericka Goodner (James), Dante, Christian, Josiah, Noah and Eldred Kinlaw; son, Herbert Christopher Wallace; great grandchildren: Jada Williams and Kamryn Francis; devoted friends: Elizabeth Wilson, Carolyn Norwood and Evelyn Gonzales and host of nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.

A service of remembrance will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 3, 2007, at E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary with Rev. Norris D. Burkley, Sr., officiating. There will be no wake or visitation for Jennie.
