Sonja was born on December 6, 1938, in Atlanta Georgia to A D and Kathleen Baker Adams. Sonja attended public school in Galveston and was a 1957 graduate of Central High School. She was a loving and devoted caregiver to her family, recently caring for her parents. She will greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Penson and leaves too cherish memories with her sons, Andre Douglas , Anthony Douglas and Nicholas Mills all of Galveston; her parents, A D and Kathleen Adams of Galveston; host of grandchildren; sisters, Ann Arronton (Ron) of Clear Lake and Barbara Karr of Galveston; devoted friend, Ithea Cahee; a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will begin at 4PM on Wednesday, February 7, 2007, followed by funeral service at 7:00P.M. at E R Johnson Family Mortuary, with her son, Nicholas Mills, officiant.
