
TEXAS CITY
- Mrs. Jessie Mae McBride Wern, 85, was
called to be with the Lord on Thursday,
February 8, 2007. She is preceded in death
by parents John and Dora McBride, her
brother John W. McBride Jr, Sister in law
Jean McBride and brother in law Joseph
Murello Jr. She is survived by her loving
husband, Ernest of 37-years of marriage and
one sister Dorothy McBride Murello four
stepchildren stepdaughter Uphie Chaney and
husband Russell Chaney, Author, Evelyn and
Alford.
Jessie
worked at the American National Insurance
Company for years and also the Doughnut King
Bakery in Galveston. As a young girl Jessie
and her good friends were always together
ands friend.
Jessie was
born and raised on Galveston Island, Texas
on November 15, 1921. Cooking and baking
were her favorite past times. While married
with her husband their hobbies together were
building picnic tables and swings. She was a
loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and
a great-grandma. She is also survived by
seven grandchildren and four great-
grandchildren.
Visitation
will be from 5pm - 7pm on Sunday 11, 2007 at
Hayes Funeral Home on 10412 Hwy 6, Hitchcock
(409) 925-3501. Funeral services will be
held Monday February 12, 2007 at 10:00am in
the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home. Reverend
John Elliott officiating.
Graveside
services will follow at Galveston Memorial
Park. Pallbearers include Joe Murello III,
John Murello, Bill Wyly, Eric Pena, Jayee
Garrison and Tom Jones. Honorary pallbearers
are John Wesley Murello and Calvin Chaney.
She is also survived by her niece Susan and
husband Bill Wyly, Joseph Murello III, wife
Claudia, John Murello and numerous nieces,
nephews and many friends. She will be sadly
missed by all who knew her. Memorials may be
made to your choice of charity.
The family
wishes to express their thanks for the
kindness and loving care that Rhonda
Garrison gave Jessie and also the care given
by the workers at Danforth Gardens Rehab in
Texas City.
