James Buford Lister

James Buford Lister, 77, received his reward of eternal rest on Tuesday, February 13, 2007, at Gulf Health Care Center in Galveston.

James was born December 26, 1929, in Tatum, Texas to Ishmael and Fannie Speed Lister. He later moved to Galveston and worked at Schreiber & Miller, from which he retired after many years service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brother and five sisters.

He leaves to cherish memories of his life, a devoted daughter, Tamara Lister Rhodes; grandchildren, Crystal Lister, Jeremy Williams and Jada Rhodes; two sisters, Odessa Lister and Lerma Howard both of Wills Point, TX; devoted nephews, Andrew Isaac of Dallas and David Lister of Galveston; devoted friend , Valerie McCalister; loyal devoted friend, Ivory Anderson; a host of nieces, other nephews, relative and friends.

Viewing will begin at 11AM on Wednesday, February 21, 2007, followed by funeral service at 1:00 PM in the chapel of E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary, with Rev. Freddie C. Perkins, Sr., officiating. Burial will be held in Greenwood Cemetery in Wills Point, Texas
