Peggy Fisher
Carnes Brothers Funeral Home

Peggy FisherPeggy Fisher, age 67, died on February 1, 2007 in Galveston, Texas.  She was born on December 5, 1939 in Houston, Texas, the daughter of Willie and Evelyn Schomburg.  After graduating high school in Houston, she attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she graduated first in her class with a degree in Pharmacy.

Peggy will be remembered most by those who loved her for her wonderful sense of humor and the ability to find laughter in just about any situation.  She loved a good joke and had a fondness for the simple things in life – a joy of reading, a passion for gardening and an enjoyment of Dallas Cowboys football.  A completely genuine person, Peggy was unconcerned with pretenses or appearances, and lived her life being sincere in who she was and what she said and did.

Her father, Willie Schomburg, and her brother Bill Schomburg preceded Peggy in death.  Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Walter Fisher; mother Evelyn Schomburg; son Matthew Fisher and fiancée Kelly Baughmann; daughter Stacy Britton and husband Matthew Britton; grandchildren Taylor, Callie and Zachary Britton; sister-in-law Linda Schomburg; and aunt Audrey Russell.  She is also survived by several brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
