Thomas E. Holt, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed from this life Saturday, February 24, 2007, in Houston, Texas.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 28, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City with Rev. Fred Willis officiating. Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., Tuesday, February 27, at the funeral home.
Born April 20, 1925 in Heflin, Louisiana, Mr. Holt was a resident of Galveston County since 1947. He was a computer engineer for Union Carbide and retired in 1985 after 38 years of service. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII where he served in the 94th Infantry Division. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of La Marque.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Dee and Clementine Thomas Holt; brothers James Holt and Willard Holt; sisters Vera Bass, Peggy Muecke, Phoebe Gorman, Maxine Cook, Evelyn Holt, and Helen Kopecky.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Nella Mae (McComic) Holt; children Cynthia Hutzler and husband, Rick, of Jersey Village, Eugene Holt and wife, Ritchie, of La Marque, and Jim Holt and wife, Kris, of Houston; nine grandchildren: Jennifer (Kevin) Booth, Joyce (Mike) Ferrell, Sarah Holt, Becky Holt, Lori Holt, Amy Holt, Erin Holt, Thomas Holt, and William Holt; 1 great-grandchild, Kiley.
