Helen Lucille Polzin

Helen Lucille Polzin departed this great world Wednesday, February 28, 2007 to join her beloved husband Melvin Polzin at their eternal resting spot. A Memorial Service is pending.

Helen was born June 6, 1909 in Ripon, Wisconsin where she and Melvin met and resided until relocating in Southern California. After Melvin joined the American National Team in California, they relocated once again in 1954 to Galveston where they raised Deborah Polzin Matthews and Robert C. Polzin.

Helen, an alumnus of Ripon College, was a dedicated wife, homemaker and gourmet cook. She participated in AAUW, Toast Mistress, Galveston Ladies Golf Association, and was an avid Golfer and bridge enthusiast.

She is survived by her daughter Deborah Matthews, husband Dan Matthews and Grandson John Matthews; also survived by her son Robert Polzin, wife Dyann Polzin, grandchildren Hailey Polzin, Douglas Polzin and wife Lana, and her great grandsons Tyler and Tayler Polzin.

The family wishes to thank all who gave their support with medical expertise, daily care, and sentiments.  We would especially like to thank the nursing and support staff of the 3rd floor at Turner Geriatric Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to:
The Macular Degeneration Center
The Wilmer Eye Institute, Maumenee 207, Johns Hopkins Hospital
