Edfith �Dede� Decker-Melcer

Edfith �Dede� Decker-Melcer, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at John Sealy Hospital on Galveston Island. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, March 9, 2007 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home with Rev. Bert Bagley officiating. Graveside services will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, March 8, 2007 at the funeral home.

�Dede� was born May 16, 1915 to Herbert Parsons and Annie Louise Cook Parsons. She was the fifth of seven children. She graduated from Ball High and lived in Dickinson for over twenty five years. She was a local artist working with oils, watercolors, acrylics and clay.

Preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother. She is also preceeded in death by her husbands, William Decker and Harry Melcer. �Dede� is survived by her son, Stephen and his wife Sarah and her granddaughter Hannah. She is also survived by her sisters, Charolette Dunn of Galveston, Wanda Smith of Galveston and her nieces and nephews.

Her family would like to thank Libby�s Place for their great care over the past five years.
