Eulalia G. Cruz

Eulalia G. CruzEulalia G. Cruz, 82, of Galveston, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at her residence.


The family will receive visitors after 9:00 am, Friday, March 9th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with Father John Paul Flajole, OFM, as Celebrant.  Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.


Eulalia was born February 12, 1925, in Galveston, Texas.  She was a loving homemaker, mother, and grandmother for 56 years.  She enjoyed sewing, baking and cooking for her family.  Eulalia was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Santos M. Cruz; sister, Herminia G. Perez; brothers, Emelio and Erasmo Gandara; granddaughter, Shawn M. Tavarez; and grandson, Patrick J. Tavarez.


Eulalia is survived by her daughters: Cynthia Halagiere and husband, Larry; Anna Seckers and husband, Robert; Velma Bailey and husband, Randy; and Pearl Cruz; sons, Santos Cruz, Jr. and wife, Dora; Alex Cruz and wife, Carol; and Christopher Cruz; sisters, Herlinda Garcia, Esther Carr, and Evangalina Carrizal; fourteen grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.


The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Grumbles and the staff of Hospice Care Team, Inc, especially nurse Lupe Chapa.  They also wish to thank daughter, Pearl, and granddaughter, Shannon, for the loving and tender care they gave to Eulalia during her illness.
