Callie Carolyn King, age 91 of Galveston passed away Friday, March 9, 2007 at Turner Geriatric Center in Galveston. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, March 12, 2007 at Moody Memorial First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Ray Pinard and Randy Miller officiating.  Entombment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Mausoleum in Hitchcock. The family will receive visitors at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home on Sunday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm where a prayer service will be held at 6:30 pm led by Pastor Arnold Morton.

Callie was born January 7, 1916 in Livingston, Texas to Landron Benton Ballard and Beulah Turner Ballard. She was a member of the Abundant Life Church of Galveston where she faithfully served the Lord for many years. She was most known for being the owner and operator of Nana�s Christian Day Care Center in Galveston where she shared the love of Christ with countless numbers of children for over 40 years.

Preceded in death by her parents, survivors include her sons, Fred King and wife Aline and Donald King all of Galveston; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are Frederick King, Donald King, Jr., Richard King, Freddie L. King, Jeff Harrington, and Delvin Rodriguez.
