Paul Arthur Deming, 83, of Galveston, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at UTMB Hospital.
His family will receive visitors beginning at 9:00 am, Friday, March 23rd, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 10:00 am Friday at Calvary Cemetery with Pastor John Allums officiating.
Paul was born January 15, 1924, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He graduated from Butler University in the School of Journalism and began his lifelong career in the newspaper and printing field. Paul worked in journalism and public relations, serving in several capacities in the private sector and later for the National Institute of Health. He was a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce of Texas City, where he was elected President and also won an Outstanding Chairman award. Paul was a member of Alpha Delta Sigma, a professional advertising fraternity for men; a member of Sigma Delta Chi, a professional journalism fraternity; and he was also a member of the Public Relations Society of America.
Paul had a unique way of telling his story. He always believed in working hard to achieve his goals. He lived a life full of happiness.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Sammi Deming, and granddaughters, Samantha Margret Vanskike and Synthia Louise Vanskike.
Pallbearers will be David Holman, Alex Holman, and Oreo Holman.
Pauls daughter, Sammi, would like to thank UTMB for all their help and concern. She is proud to be a part of their establishment and feels that they are the beacon of light in a dark tunnel. Special thanks goes out to all the floor nurses, who made Sammi and Paul feel like family. The family is truly grateful for their kindness.
