Leroy Reese, Sr.
E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary

Leroy Reese, Sr.Leroy Reese, Sr., 84, departed this life on Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at UTMB Hospital.

Leroy was born on September 12, 1922, in Trinity, Texas. He was formerly employed as a custodian at Moody Bank and retired from Lipton Tea. He was an avid baseball player in his younger years. Leroy was also a member of M. W.  St. Joseph Grand Lodge A. F. & A. M. St. James Lodge #2030 of Galveston.

Leroy was preceded in death by his father, J. B. Reese; mother, Clara Perry; wife, Luberta McDaniel Reese; daughter, Anita Faye Bloom and grandson, Leroy Reese III.
He leaves with cherished memories, son, Leroy Reese, Jr.; daughters, Gloria Jean Reese and Barbara Ann Gordon; mother of his children, Gracie Clara Reese; twelve grandchildren; host of great grand and great great grandchildren; uncle, Archie Trotty, Sr.; cousins, Archie Trotty, Jr. (Mary) and Mathis Green; devoted caregiver,
Brenda Womack; other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held from 3-5PM on Monday, March, 26th at E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary, with wake service from 7-8PM at the Gtr. Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. A service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 27, 2007, also at the Mt. Gilead Church with Pastor Michael Dwyer, officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.

Pallbearer will be Larry W. Walker, Norman Bloom III, Aundre' Reese, Corey Bloom, Shannon Kneeland, Marcus Walker and Anthony Hall. Honorary Pallbearers are Leroy Reese, Jr. and great grandsons.
