James “Jack” S. Henshaw

James “Jack” S. Henshaw, 84, of Galveston, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at his residence.

 

Graveside service will be 10:30 am Thursday, March 29th, at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston. 

 

Jack was born October 31, 1922, in Houston, Texas.  He grew up in Bellaire and served in the U.S. Army during World War II, participating in 3 major battles in the South Pacific.  Upon returning home, Jack ran his family’s business, Southern Hotel Supply, retiring in 1986 to the Rio Grande Valley.  Jack’s wife, Patricia, passed away in 1998 and at that time Jack moved to Galveston to be closer to his children.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lyle Henshaw; his wife, Patricia; brother, Frank Allen Henshaw; and sister, Bette Joyce Henshaw.

 

Jack is survived by his daughter, Tanna M. Henshaw, of Houston; son, James Henshaw, of Galveston; and three grandchildren: Max, Jacob, and Azucena Henshaw.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to AMED Community Hospice of Texas City.
