Genaro O. Capetillo, Sr., 82, of Texas City, passed away Friday, March 30, 2007, at Mainland Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Monday, April 2, 2007 at St. Mary of the Miraculous Catholic Church in Texas City with Father Tom Ponzini officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday, April 1, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home with a Rosary beginning at 7 p.m.
Mr. Capetillo was born July 10, 1924 in Orange, Texas. He was an Administrative Engineer for the United States government. And a member of St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps during WWII.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Concepcion and Amada Capetillo; his son, Gregory Capetillo; his brother, Tom Capetillo; and his sister Lupe Martinez.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ruby Capetillo; sons: George Capetillo and wife Linda, David Capetillo and wife Elaine, Robert Capetillo and wife Ana, and Genaro Capetillo, Jr.; brothers Toby Capetillo and wife Sylvia and Felix Capetillo and wife Terrie; sisters Benita Segura and Candy Medrano and husband Rudy; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Gregory Capetillo, Joseph Capetillo, Sabino Medrano, Raul Capetillo, Tom Capetillo, and Frank Kolavo.
