Agnes Elizabeth Franklin, age 89 of Galveston passed away Sunday, April 1, 2007 at Turner Geriatric Center in Galveston. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, April 5, 2007 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston with Dr. Grayson Glass officiating. Burial will follow at GalvestonMemorial Park in Hitchcock. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, April 4, 2007.
Aggie was born February 6, 1918 in Sour Lake, Texas to Richard Wells and Velma Barrows Wells. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Galveston; she was a representative with the Avon Company for over 22 years, where she made many, many friends, was an excellent seamstress, cook and avid bowler for many years and an awesome grandmother.
Preceded in death by her parents, sons, Rick and Mike Franklin, grandson, Ian Franklin, and a brother, Buddy Wells, Aggie is survived by her husband, Fred Franklin of Galveston; grandson, Jason Franklin of Los Angeles; sisters, Mary Louise Keeton and husband Alton, Sue Anderson and husband Thomas of Cleveland, Texas, and Faye Morgan and husband Eugene of Sour Lake, Texas; brother, Richard Wells and wife Bennie of Daisetta, Texas and a sister in law, Frances Wells of Liberty, Texas.
Pallbearers are Paul Marques, Dennis Lanigan, Todd Adams, Jr., Jason Franklin, Alex Marques, and Greg Samford.
