Alvin "Tump" Ward, 81, departed this life on Monday, April 2, 2007.
Alvin was born November 23, 1925, in Brazoria, Texas to Monroe and Mary Ann Simmons Ward. He attended public school in Brazoria and later went on to obtain his plumbers license. He was a longtime resident of Galveston and retired as a self employed Master Plumber.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ozelle Ward; daughter, Nettie Ward Berry; grandson, Anthony Vinning; siblings, J. T. Ward, Dehill Ward, Florence Ward, Darcus Gee and Pach Ann Barnes.
He leaves to cherish memories of his life with his grandchildren, Angie Sheinall Jones (David, Sr.), Christopher Vinning and Sherrie Jackson; great grandchildren, Chandler Hill, Brian Ritell, Jr., Brineisha and Brittany Ritell; extended family, Linda Vann, Dennis Vann, Charles Vann, Jr. and Cynthia Price (Ralph, Sr.) and their children, Lamar, Ralph, Jr., Austin, and Eboni; host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin at 9AM on Saturday, April 7, 2007, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 A.M. at E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary, with Rev. Willie Price, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Brazoria.
